nano nasty

ARTIST | russia

Anastasia Rasschupkina, also known as Nano Nasty, born  in 1994 in Moscow, is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculpture, painting, and performance. With a foundation in academic art training and art history, her practice has evolved into a deeply intuitive and material driven exploration of emotion, memory, and the subconscious. Influenced by surrealist imagery, animation, and visual absurdity, she has developed a distinctive language shaped by contrast, symbolism, and sensory experience.

Working with raw and unconventional materials such as sand, cement, clay, and pigment, Nano Nasty approaches creation as a physical and alchemical process. Her recurring use of red and blue forms a symbolic system rooted in psychological tension and inner states. Through layered textures, gestures, and organic forms, her work explores fragility, desire, and transformation. Having exhibited and performed internationally, including at the Bombay Beach Biennale and Burning Man, her practice remains instinctive, immersive, and grounded in the rhythms of both body and environment.
