ARTIST | spain

Ignacio Cavero is a Spanish contemporary artist based in Madrid whose multidisciplinary practice merges digital illustration, pop art, sculpture, and advanced production technologies. A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, Cavero spent decades working as an art director and creative director for multinational agencies across North America and Spain, earning international recognition in graphic, advertising, and digital design, including awards in Silicon Valley, London, and New York.

His current body of work, MUNDO SUMO, transforms the ancient world of Japanese sumo into a contemporary visual universe where manga culture, surrealism, pop aesthetics, and sculpture intersect. Working entirely by hand without AI, Cavero combines traditional artistic foundations with digital mastery, creating works that are both technically sophisticated and emotionally immediate.

Alongside his digital illustrations, Cavero has expanded into sculpture through the use of 3D technologies, large-format printing, resin production, and self-developed finishing techniques inspired by chrome, enamel, and porcelain textures.

His works have been exhibited internationally in Madrid, Milan, Tokyo, Paris, New York, London, and Osaka. In 2025, a work from the MUNDO SUMO collection was donated to the Las Ventas Museum in Madrid.
