Ryo Arita is a Canadian-born artist based in Japan whose practice operates at the intersection of food, design, and conceptual art. Raised in a family deeply connected to the restaurant industry, he developed an early sensitivity to the visual, sensory, and cultural dimensions of food, which now form the foundation of his work.

With a background in graphic and three-dimensional design from the School of Visual Arts in New York, Arita approaches food as both medium and message.
