Allisyn James is a London-based artist whose vibrant work is inspired by a lifelong passion for color, pattern, and texture. As a tetrachromat—one of the rare 12% of women with four types of cone cells—Allisyn perceives a wider and more nuanced range of colors than most, allowing her to create rich, layered compositions that invite exploration and touch. Working primarily with gouache and inks, she crafts intricate designs filled with subtle tonal shifts and dynamic textures. With a background in graphic and textile design, including collaborations with Speedo and features on The Clothes Show under Nougat, her work seamlessly bridges fine art and design. Her paintings have been showcased during the London Design Festival and reflect her global experiences, including time spent living and working abroad and in Spain. Through her art, Allisyn offers viewers a mesmerizing sensory journey where new forms emerge with every glance.
